Just finished a buddies 396" intake swap.
I built his 396 over a decade ago and used the comp 280H magnum on a 108LSA.
Went with a tunnel-ram and 2 600 edelbrocks.. his first drive with dual carbs was enough to leave him shaking from adrenaline rush.
Said it was "Raunchy" which I take as a good thing.
swings to 7000+ rpm before he knew it and shift light shined up his face in second gear with tires roasting.
Said he was not even all the way in it.
Told him he will need to invest in some tires. He was all shook up , said the single 4 never felt that good.
I told him Yea it's a tunnel-ram.. they just work very well.

The heads are large oval port that I ported it has 11:1 compression and it has 2.19-1.88 valves and 2" headers with 3" collectors into 3" exhaust. cranking pressure is 210 psi and likes 91 octane fuel.
Pretty decent running 396"
His truck is heavy I think it was 4200lbs and has the wrong gears for sure some 3.08 that really need to be 3.73 with a spool or a posi carrier that will live.
Not junk this time :)
