I'm watching the military channel on tv right now. They are demo'ing the .408 chytak(spelling)?
It currently hold the world record for putting 3 shots into a sillouette target at 2321 yds.

It will punch through a V8 block at 1000 yds.

I sure wouldn't want to be on the other side of that bad boy.

Which is better, .416 Barret or .408 Cheytac?

I suppose neither is better, just that the Cheytac can be and is, put into a smaller, lighter, more tote-able rifle package than the BMG based rounds. Correct? (whereas the .416 will have a bit better LR ballistics; it's a tradeoff as always).

I've always wondered if they ever recovered those two that were "lost" out of the back of the pick up truck. Wasn't it in Houston? About a year ago?

The news gave a value of something like 12K each. Both in seperate padded cases, full optics. Nice looking.

Anyone else remember that story?
