The American Eagle brass swelled at the base and was difficult to extract. I greased the cylinders via lubing the brass and brass ejected easily after that. There was no problem with Buffalo Bore or Magtech brass.

Distance to target was point blank. Did not aim. Point fired from above waist level, fast as I could get them off. Fired three cylinders, double action one handed. Hand is still sore. Two paper targets were completely obliterated. Shredded to pieces.

I was given a 6" 629 no dash,,,
But I rarely ever shoot it.

When the father of my best friend passed away,,,
I helped her clean, catalog, price, and sell her father's collection.

This was a three day process just to find, clean, and catalog them.

When it was all done she gave me the 629,,,
She said it was his favorite handgun.

About the only thing I do with it,,,
Is haul it out when introducing new shooters to revolvers,,,
And no, I don't hand it to an 85 pound woman and video the results.

It is my least shot handgun of the 40 I own.

The reason is that I have no practical use for it,,,
And I have tried to come up with a viable use for the monster,,,
I don't hunt anymore and even if I did I would use my 6" S&W Model 686.

I have a friend who loads for his .44 mag,,,
He made me some light target loads to try through it,,,
They did lessen the recoil but I might as well just shoot .44 specials.

The gun is like the 426 Hemi I used to own,,,
It made quite a bit of noise and impressed my friends,,,
But for regular day to day transportation it wasn't practical at all.

My friend passed away two years ago,,,
So I keep the big boomer as a memento of her,,,
But other than drag it out for special occasion shooting,,,
It just sits in it's case as part of a four-gun set that I collected.

I live in a mobile home,,,
My neighbors also live in big tin boxes,,,
I've considered using it as a house gun with shot loads.

It's a magnificent handgun and I love owning it,,,
It's just that I have no practical use for mine.

Very nice, Mr. Bonner!! Those little things certainly do pack some punch!! I shot my first one at H&H ... A lot of my "firsts" were when I worked there because I shot every single solitary gun they had on the rental rack ... lol Cost me a buttload of my paycheck in ammo but it was worth it. Got to shoot some really neat guns! :P

Thanks, BadgeBunny! This is not a gun for shooting quarters taped to a board at 25 yards. It is a get'em off ya gun. Plain and simple. Despite the murderous recoil, I got off all six in around two seconds. UL came back on target by point feel. All bullets within a handwidth shooting it this way. The only explanation I have for the shredded targets is concussion waves, possibly.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I used to enjoy renting the bigger caliber handguns to guys and then watching their faces when they torched off that first shot. :lmfao: Some of them even insisted I come out and fire a shot so they could "see" what it was like. I was a fairly accomplished shooter (and had shot the thing a bazillon times), so when I told them the recoil would catch them by surprise they never believed me. Dullards ... It's a wonder some guys can walk with those basketball sized things hanging between their legs ... :wink2: Of course, I got the last laugh when they fired off their first round! :lmfao:

There was a navy guy whose wife's favorite gun was her .44 magnum. She never failed to draw a crowd when she shot that thing and she was deadly with it! :P

Pharr Shot, I plan on buying brisket with plenty of ribs next payday. I mean to stack them layer after layer behind each other and then empty my UL into them at point blank range, just to see what happens to all that meat and bones. There promises to be some good pics come out of it, but I don't want to hog up your thread.
