More power to you 44 magnum lovers.

The older I get the less I want anything to do wiith heavy recoil.

I ended up with a like new Super Blackhawk in a trade a while back, and never put a round through it.

I traded it for a 686 clone and some cash and felt I got the better end of the deal.

I don't care to shoot anything more powerful than 9mm in a handgun these days, and if .22 was a better self defense round, that would be my caliber of choice.

I think the .44 Magnum draws a specific crowd.

I dare you to shoot some .44 mag +P through it.

Nope. I'd have to use both hands, then. I feel like in an emergency, a primary carry should be manageable using one hand. Next Tuesday or Wednesday I'm getting some slabs of ribs to shoot this specific ammo through. I'll post pics. I'll be arranging the slabs one behind the other in such a way as the bullets are likely to strike bone.

Once you have shot a short barreled .500 S&W with Tony Rumore's 650grn handloads a .44 ain't jack!!!! It feels like being hit in the hand with a hammer.

I have seen a guy bust out his teeth shooting a .500 and not being ready for the recoil.

I used to have a nickel 4" 29-2 that I loved shooting. I once got to use it to shoot a bowling pin; after three rounds of PMC's hotter-'n-hell 240gr TCSP, there weren't any remaining pieces big enough to be worth shooting, at least of the ones we could find. 1100 ft-lbs of energy can sure turn a bowling pin into a mess of splintered wood in short order...

Recoil doesn't bother me that much, just for the heck of it I run full power police loads trough my Taurus 65, 4 inch and through my S&W 66, 2 inch.
I more than likely will end up with a Ruger since they are build like am M1 Abrams tank! :P
I ain't gonna get that Buffalo Bore stuff, that's way to cracked out for me.
I have barely any feeling in my middle finger on my shooting hand so that bothers me but a Ruger wouldn't be to bad on that.
