Hello Everyone,
I am fixing to start working up a load in 458 SOCOM. My father and I both have nearly identical rifles. They are both Radical Firearms 16 inch barrels with free float quad rails. The only difference between the two is i chose a 12 inch rail, and he went with a 15 inch rail. That being said, I have two questions. First of all, what loads have you used with accuracy and perfect feeding. The second question I have is that I am looking for some good "Commercial factory loads". I just want some good one as a baseline to start with. Currently, I have 3 factory loads. One is a Wilson Combat 300 grain TTSX load, One isa Hornady FTX 325 load, and the other is an Underwood 405 grain SP load. Also could use a tip on what dies you have the most success with.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give, as buying the components for this load is costly and I would rather not dig myself too far into a hole with "trashy" loads.

I have Horady dies too. They seem to get the best reviews.

D&T,
Do you have any good subsonic loads? I want to load up some 600grain subs.

i run 325 Hornady FTX with lil gun, starline brass, and Winchester large pistol primers. started at 26 and I think i am up t0 29.3 or 29.6 with no pressure signs. I have the wilson combat upper/barrel..

I think 27.5-28.5gr would shoot 5 shot groups into one (BIG) ragged hole at 100. I think the 28 or 28.5gr load was moving at over 1800 fps.. I don't have the data in front of me right now..

i get tired of bench shooting it pretty quickly, so i really havnt taken the time to settle on a load or tweak it...
