Anyone on here have an F-250 Ford with the 6.2 gas in it? I've found a nice one to buy and was wondering how people liked them.

I had a customer that had one(2012ish) with around 100K miles on it. It ran and drove decent for a while. It had already had one engine replaced and the replacement engine soon developed a valve problem. I think it burned a valve, but I'm not sure because he didn't have any money to fix it, so he let it go back to the dealer he bought it from.

thanks for the info, I've never drove one or talked to anyone that's owned one. I've got a diesel now and would like to go back to gas

Well I've had my 6.0 F-350 for 10 years now and its had 12 injectors, and a turbo replaced at about $5,000 worth. Been a good truck and I'm not afraid to drive it anywhere but there real costly to work on. These new ones are even more expensive with all the emissions stuff that goes wrong. I pull a 25ft. gooseneck flatbed a few times a year and that's about it. The diesels run great but there so expensive to buy and maintain, I just don't need one for no more than I'm pulling, my old 454's and 460's I had for years would pull what I've got just fine and these 6.2 Ford's and 6.4 Dodge's have almost 200 more hp than they had from the factory.

I'm not sure about the F-250s, but the guys with 6.2 F-150s universally love them. A bunch of them were upset when they dropped it from the F150 in '15.

I went from an 03' f250 6.0lpsd to a 14' f250 6.2l for a while. It was demo truck with 5k miles, XLT, no issues and had it for just over a year. It just wouldn't tow like I wanted it to for what I tow and as often as I tow. If you just want an f250 to run around in and occasional light towing I'd say go for it. Not sure what you're hauling on your goose neck or how often though. I sold the 6.2l gas and bought a 2012 f350 6.7lpsd.....and all I can say I'll never go back to gas, ever. My 12' psd gets the same mpg as the 6.2l every day, and the diesel gets almost 4mpg better pulling the more load and with zero effort, put cruise on 70 or 75 and never look back and rarely if ever down shifts to fifth. The 6.2l had it's hands full with one bronco on that trailer imo, it pulled it but there's no replacement for torque at low rpm.

I'll probably just stay with what I have, I bought a v-10 ford after they first came out and was never happy with it. I've been reading the forums and people say the 6.2's pull good and they like them and then others don't. Its nice to actually hear from people that have had them here locally.

The Super Duties get a "detuned" 6.2l. The Raptor and F150 programmed 6.2l have more hp and tq.

Ford is coming out with a new 7.3 gas in the 2020 super duty's but they'll be more than I want to pay, supposedly 450 hp. I can't buy a truck unless it has 90-100,000 miles on it. That's why I was thinking about a 6.2, but it doesn't like I would like it really. I know what I got with the one I'm driving so I'll stick with it a while longer I think.
