[According to a recent survey of 1,600 parents conducted by the Child Mind Institute and Parents magazine, 60 percent are concerned that kids who have a mental health issue—like Asperger syndrome, which Newtown gunman Adam Lanza reportedly had—are more likely to hurt themselves or others. And 61 percent of parents said that parents of children with mental health problems should not be allowed to have a gun in their homes...]

That's nice that 61% of parents feel they should tell other parents what to do. If they don't want to have guns in their home, that's their prerogative. I wonder how many of those 61% have children with mental health problems and if their opinion would change after their child was diagnosed with one.

It's often "different" when it's "them" and not "us" huh?

Wow, so now because your child was born with a issue of some sort it can hinder your right to own firearms & protect your family. This is complete ******** & has to stop at some point. This is not what people meant by addressing the mental health issues. Once again ignorance is winning.

I think the problem is that people don't understand mental illness. Their are so many different types of mental illness out there that it is unfair to try to lump them all together. Should children with illness who exhibit violent tendencies have access to guns? No. Duh. Laws aren't needed for this, common sense is. It is called a gun safe. Use it.

No one's right to own a firearm should be affected because of this.

People, the real story is that 39% of parents don't believe that the second amendment should be diminished, even when asked misleading questions by liberal pollsters.
Next time someone regurgitates a 90% he's been fed, hit him with that.
