7/13 - Man it was hot

I went up to the land today.

Put up 3 deer stands by myself.
Started at 8:30 and finished 2:00

It got HOT around NOON.....
Thank god the last one was in the shade..........

Drive from Hugo all the way back down to Bohnam Tx, truck
(outrside) temp gauge was showing 105-106.

I could not believe it..

I drank a ton of water and tried to not get stupid and overheat.

But right now I am cramping up like crazy.....

I usually drive the 2 hour ride home and never stop.
I was drinking so much water all day tha tI had to stop 2 times on the way home and am still freaking Cramping up..

Water is good, but I think good old Gatoraid works better for me. But I'll drink any of the sports drinks or water. And take lots of breaks.

I've been fly fishing for bluegill for the last two mornings in a row. By 9am its too hot to continue. Just another OK summer.

That is one of my most favorite things to do. I keep 2 flyrods in the boat at all times. It is just a relaxing type of fishing.

I just spent 4 days and 4 nights straight in it so I ought ta' know......and yeah it's too damn hot!

You're a better man than me. Too damn hot for me! I have plots going that I mowed a couple weeks ago. I have a few stands that I need to move and I'll start keeping the feeders full at the end of Aug.

When you get like that you need to drink some gatoraid or pickle juice. You have sweated so much that water alone won't do any good. Your kidneys retain water through Na and K exchanges and gradients. When you reach the point that your very low on these along with other minerals all the water in the world won't help you.

That being said yeah its freaking hot!!!!! I am ready for cool weather and deer hunting.

The Pedialite last night was the fixer.

I slammed down some in a big bottle fromthe cabnet.

Big lie 30 oz or so.

No cramps through the night..
Those late night cramps are the worste...

Do not underestimate the power of a simple banana. I always have one every day that I am going to be outside moving.
