We have a cake pan with a lid on it that is  full of mothballs in our Jeep when in Colorado, uncover it and slide it under the engine area, keeps the vermin out of the engine when we park it and go hiking. I keep it under my extra vehicles in my barn here as well. And there is some spray to be had had Walmart called rat stop.
