The only good thing I can see there, is you wouldn't have to worry about cosmoline removal.
Wonder if the bores look as bad the exterior?

They have character! As long as the pitting isn't dangerous and the bores are decent thats a steal.

Is this a good value, or do you think it would require too much work to be a functional shooter?

I think it would all be the luck of the draw.

You might get one that had just a bit of surface rust, clean up nice and be a great shooter.
But the unknown of getting one with considerable issues is enough to deter me.
