Last time in Vegas was '01. Have no desire to go back. Before the last time, we went once a year, starting in '86. The people watching was by far, the best. The place, the atmosphere, the vibe has changed. When we were going, our room was always comped. Meals were cheap and good food. They started to make over and be more family / kid friendly. Who is the dumbass thought that was a good idea. Never once did we ever think, "wow, wish could have the kids with us." Kids mean you are entertaining your kids, not in casino, not going to shows, not anything Vegas was built for. Tearing down all of the old gangster hangouts killed it for me. Side note: I never hit anything near a jackpot. It never cost anymore than any other weekend get away would have. Many times, the trip cost nothing or less than a nice dinner. Before leaving, I knew to the penny how much I had and getting, I counted again. Our last trip, 7 days, we got home and I had $32 less than when we left. The airport parking was $30.
