They have basically removed all load from the screws except for normal axial load. These won't be shearing off from load along the axis of the slide and inertia. That's pretty damned significant. The only downside is if you do lose clamp and optic, you are hosed because your rear sight is gone too, but the chance of that is almost zero if you install to proper torque.
