http://feinstein.senate.gov/05speeches/ethanol-oped.htm This link refers to a detailed study found in this file http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.170.8208&rep=rep1&type=pdf I have also read an MIT study and one from a California college (CalTech?) that basically say the same. If you follow the original link I posted you will see that even Gore that did it to us now admits that it is a bad idea. I take care of my cars which led to me to think at the time that the problem was the O2 sensor getting sluggish. It was not. The fact that both mileage and power return when I use real gas proves my point. All engines are not affected the same way. Many motorcycles including hogs seem to be more vulnerable than others. Glad you like it. I am against using food for fuel. If somebody wants to make ethanol from other sources and I don't have to subsidize them and I am not forced to use it, I don't care. Let them have fun. I don't appreciate others deciding what is good for me. This is America, the land of the free.
