They simply raise their prices and service industries simply tack on fuel surcharges. Society habits have adjusted to idiot fuel prices during the summer months by cutting spending in other areas. Companies have adjusted to idiot fuel prices by running leaner companies that can withstand reduced demand for their products without eliminating jobs.
