After talking to the sheriff and letting him know about the other two he said it was 100% caused by some JACKASS (my words) dragging a trailer chain. What a douche bag!! Could have burned someone’s house and livelihood down because he was too stupid to chain up his trailer properly. There was a previous fire in the refuge I’m guessing 20 years ago that was set off by some jackass and a welder.
This past year I was driving down Porterhill/Meers Road when I noticed what looked like sparks on the side of the road so I pulled over to investigate. A fire was just about to pick up in the dry grass so I stomped it out. Hopped back in my truck and not 300 yards down the road another fire was further along so I grabbed my extinguisher and put that one out. WT Heck?!! I was thinking an arsonist maybe and took off down the road again. Another 200 yards and a bend in the road revealed a third fire that was much too large for me and an empty fire extinguisher to deal with. Called 911 and FD got it all doused and out. Grrrrr 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
