#1- Dead & Buried... heck of a ending. Back when the Excorcist was first released, some of my High School buddies had driven over to Lawton in order to watch the midnight showing. It was a approx. 50 mile drive for them. These were 16-17 yr old guys who had been raised in church all their lives. There was 4 of them crammed into a little 2 door Chevy Vega. On the way home about 4am, it was raining like hell... they could barely see the stripes on the road with both their windshield wipers & headlights on high. They were laughing & joking about the movie.. making some [rude] comments about satan and more or less 'whistling past the grave yard'... in reality they were scared by the movie. Well, after one especially crude remark about satan, there was a billiant flash of lightening nearby, a tremendous clap of thunder and their car's headlights & dashlights instantly went out.. this while they were traveling @ 60 MPH. They said it was darker than the inside of a cow's belly and that it scared the ever love'in Crap out of them. Driver was trying to stop, but couldn't even see his hand in front of his face so he didn't know if he was still on the road or not. One of them said he thought he had sucked half his seat cover up his butt. It had a profound effect on them for about 2 weeks. Even now 30+ years later, they still haven't watched the movie again or like to talk about it.
