I enjoyed the movie. Obviously you can't put as much detail into a movie as you can a book, but the movie was good. As for the rest of the discussions that have taken place, I will say this... Whether everything portrayed in the book or movie is factual or not, one fact is indisputable. Chris Kyle was a Navy Seal who served 4 tours overseas defending the rights and freedoms that allow us to express our views and opinions on this forum or any other we so choose. Too many people take those rights for granted and never give it a thought as to what has been given, what sacrifices have been made, so that we may enjoy them at so little cost to us. Is Chris Kyle a hero? The military seemed to think so. As for me, having never served in the armed forces, I will gladly say that it is my view and opinion that any person who has ever worn a uniform; any person that has ever stepped foot on foreign soil; any person that has put themselves second chair to any of the rights and freedoms that I have here at home, should be considered a hero. I will not enter into debate of the levels of heroism by Kyle or anyone. I will just say to all Veterans, "Thank you."
