IF, we were to restrict government to legislating and enforcing only those laws and policies that pertain to the good governance of the jurisdiction they're charged with, and IF, we were to restrict armed government agents to enforcing only those crimes against other people's person and property, there simply wouldn't be any societal uprising against the police.</p><p></p><p>Who's at fault? At the core, The People. We elect craven, self-serving people to "public servant positions", then sit back and allow them to redefine those positions as "higher office", with special exemptions and concessions for themselves. We allow them to take money from special interests and utilize it for their own gain. We allow them to define and expect special privilege for themselves, such as automatically assuming honorifics such as "The Honorable Mr. or Ms. Politician". We allow them to call themselves "lawmakers" instead of "representatives" or simply "public servants".</p><p></p><p>Most critically, we allow them to pass laws that have absolutely nothing to do with good governance or crimes against nature, then utilize armed government agents to enforce those unjust laws against the very people they were elected to protect. Why do we do this? Because we all think we're "special". It's perfectly OK for us to demand that these "public servants" enact unjust laws against people we don't like or disagree with, because we're right and they're wrong! We also demand special consideration, concessions and protection because we're "more special" than those we don't like or agree with. All the while refusing to imagine that those we don't like or agree with also feel special and privileged, and how dare they do the same thing to us that we're doing to them? It's an outrage!!!</p><p></p><p>Well guess what, no one is even remotely special. No one should be privileged. The POTUS, SCOTUS justices and congresscritters are no more <u>or less</u> special that some 15 year old black transgender paraplegic pauper who grew up disadvantaged in every conceivable way. Neither is the offspring of some lily white, protestant Rockefeller family type who's a Bilderberg, Skull & Bones member any more or less special than the aforementioned.</p><p></p><p>We are all AMERICANS. Until we place that at the very forefront, with all other considerations a very distant second, we will continue to erode both the society and freedoms we all want and expect.
