It is a story about a young Navajo leaving the tribe during a great sickness. During his rafting, the water broke up his raft and make that symbol. He was sucked into another world, fought monsters, and brought the cure back to the tribe. As you can imagine, many of the elders are starting to wear the whirling log symbol again, especially during this pandemic, which has hit the tribe very hard.
