Message: <blockquote data-quote="Shadowrider" data-source="post: 1879706" data-attributes="member: 3099">Dustin I just went with a complete reinstall in my house.  If you end up going new, it really won't pay to much higher than 14 SEER on the condensing unit.  If you match your A coil to the unit right you can get up to about 16 SEER out of that 14 SEER unit.  If you go with the an 18 SEER unit you'll never save enough to get your increase cash outlay back.  I did go to a 96 AFUE gas furnace though, because ONG has a $550 rebate going so that one made sense.My old Goodman unit was a noisy sumbitch and it was from day one.  This 3.5 ton is twice the size of that Goodman 3 ton and you can barely hear it run.  I'm sure my neighbors love that.</blockquote>
