Message: <blockquote data-quote="tyromeo55" data-source="post: 1881895" data-attributes="member: 1719">Kinda but Its not that straight forward.  We almost completely took it apart ( ruud engineered it to where everything had to come apart to get to what we needed), recovered the little bit of freon that was left in it into a recovery cylinder and then put a dry nitrogen charge in it to make locating the exact point of the leak and to aide in soldering.  The leak was exactly where dustin said it was.  Totally a factory defect where they swaged the tube too deep that finally wore through end plate.   The fins in that location had to be pushed back a little and the place had to be cut to reveal the hole.  The area was cleaned, fluxed and silver soldered.  After the repair we put another nitrogen charge into it make sure the leak was successfully patched.  After it was repaired we re-assembled the unit, removed the nitrogen and vacuumed out the lines and weighed in an initial charge.  We checked confirmed that there was a fixed orifice and not a TXV and finalized the charge by checking the superheat.  While we were at it we found a leaking service valve so we replaced the core for good measure.Ya know, Before I get flooded with PM's to repair everyone's heat and air please start a new post and see if the community can help.  I'm way too busy to take on a ton of side work also I probably did it way too cheap but I didnt loose any money and Dustin is such an asset to us here and is always willing to help a brother out.  It was time someone did him a solid</blockquote>
