There were a number of Springfield M1 Carbine receivers available at one time and literally boatloads of surplus USGI parts around for decades after WWII. A few places (Fulton Armory comes to mind) built complete carbines out of surplus parts using Springfield receivers.

Just note though that Springfield was not one of the carbine contractors during WWII.

To answer the question again. Yes, and I feel I have opened up a can of worms that will not be easily closed. Going to pick up a round receiver Mosin this week to sporterize with a Boyds Stocks laminate stock and ATI dogleg bolt.
