Fedor Vasilevich Tokarev developed the TT-33 Pistol for the Soviet Military, But It is a very close copy of John Browning's 1911 automatic pistol. As for the country of origin, The only negative thing I have seen about any of the toks is the chinese version seems to have a rougher fit and finish. There is a good supply of original replacement parts around. I added a muzzel brake/compensator from www.gunpartswarehouse.com for $35.00 (free shipping) and I just ordered a clip extension from www.buymilsurp.com for $10.00 as far as custom grips go I could'nt find anyone that does them for the tok, so I made my own. The first set I made was a ergonomic style grip with finger grooves and a thumb rest, my second set was the 1911 style grips pictured in my earlier post, Now I am working on a set of rubberized 3/4 wraparound grips, These are a little more complicated but they are coming along.
