The serial number dates it to Dec 1930.

I goofed. This has the single patent #, no date codes, no model # stamped, and SN were reused.
This actually makes it from 1911.

Caught someone with 50 packs at a decent price, so I went ahead and ordered another 100 rounds. Got a shipping number in 5 minutes from these guys.

I put this together finally.. so I sorta got it today?

From those of you that weren’t in on OSA’s Secret Santa, this is what my extraordinary Secret Santa sent me. Whoever you are, thank you again. It was fun finishing the frame and putting together. Quite the learning experience. Hopefully I can take it to the range and try it out on Thursday.

(Plastic cover plate to cover up the milling for a sight ended up braking on install if y’all were wondering why it looked strange with just the screws there.)

I didn’t get it today, but I shot it today. And man, this scratched an itch. For so long I thought I wanted a nice 9mm 1911, so I got one. And loved it. But there was still “something”, the slightest small “something” missing. I went thru most of the sa and sa/da hammer fire cz’s, sigs, 3rd gen smiths (love em) and quite a few others, but this felt like coming home. This is what I’d been wanting. I feel stupid for not getting one sooner. I think it needs a new recoil spring and a good scrub, but man, I freaking love this thing.
