So, I was coming back from SCI Bixby yesterday, after getting my hands on a Taurus G3 for the first (but not the last) time and picking up a box of Sig 365 hollowpoints for testing. I almost passed by Tulsa County Pawn but remembered that I wanted to see what digital cameras they may have had--I'm looking to get a Panasonice mirrorless camera. I go in but all they have is a Canon camera, so I go over to the firearms display to see what handguns they have--nothing spectacular, but then I notice something in the tiny forest of magazines on the bottom shelf. There are two magazines sitting side-by-side. Both are somewhat stubby but have a witness hole for 12 rounds and yellow followers. I asked the guy behind the counter if I could look at one. He brought out both of them. Inspecting the magazines, I noticed that they both are stamped "Made in Brazil." The only difference I noticed was a sandpaper-like patch of stippling that resembles the grip on my G2c but that isn't on my magazines. Looking at the magazines, I asked the guy, "I wonder if these will work in my Taurus?" "I'd be willing to bet they do," he replied. I retorted, "But would you be willing to bed $14.99?" "How about $20 for both?" What could I say? "Sold!" So, for just a bit more than the price of a new G2c magazine ($31.99,) I picked up two magazines and 20 rounds of self defense ammunition. Black Friday came early for me!
