[QUOTE="Jcann, post: 3978221, member: 33119"] I lost one of the best uncles a young boy/man could have last year. He took me on my first deer hunt, first elk hunt, first pheasant hunt, and first antelope hunt. Over the years his health and weight kept him from much of what he enjoyed although he was still able to hunt antelope being that much of it was done from the cab of a pickup. Before his health went south he had hunted from Oklahoma to Alaska and points in between. In his den is a lifetime of memories on the walls and standing next to the fire place. Everything from deer, elk, antelope, full mount bear and bear rug, pheasant, quail, turkey, bobcat…even the illusive jackalope. Together we enjoyed numerous hunts and shared many hours in a tent. It was in a tent that my uncle Johnny gifted me his Remington 700 BDL in 222 Rem and his Browning SA22 22LR. We killed a lot of Prairie dogs in Colorado with this 222. I’ll probably put my Nikon 4-16x44 that’s doing nothing currently on it and attempt to strike matches with it, it’s almost that accurate. I’ve never shot this 22 but after cleaning it I think I like it. I picked up both of them yesterday along with the Red Rider adult/youth set he gave to my grandson.
