I use tin and lead and silver and have made hard wheel weight round balls for muzzloader just wanted to find out what they shot like and if they deformed. I used to buy that lead solder in a 1 LB spool for a buck each at auctions as no one really wanted it. Now Kester rosin or acid core solder I would pay more for it. Usually 6 bucks a pound was my max. I soldered a lot of copper wire and radiators. Not many copper brass radiators around today for replacement ones. Seems everything went to aluminum.
