I used to have one. Put a Boyd's stock and a long eye relief scope on it.

My hex receiver izzy. Was counterbored and cracked stock when I got it. Was cut back to 16.25 inches and recrowned. Had factory sight moved back with it and a trigger job all done by Fransons some years ago. Found an m44 stock had it shaved down to a "minimalist" thickness, and a hand woven double cobra paracord sling from one whole continues length of cord (over 200 feet). And an ebay bolt mod that was actually pretty well done.

I have been wanting to build one like this for a while. Its the fire ball project or "fbp16" its freaking nice. However i dont want to take away from Don Fransons work, and im not investing in another mosin at their corrent prices. Ive been thinking about doing it with an entry level bolt gun like an axis, american, or 770 in 308.
