AR 6.5 Grendel build question.

Should I go 20 or 18 inch barrel or will I see any difference. Furthest I figure I will ever shoot it will be maybe 5-600 yards at a range. Most times it will be Oklahoma deer hunting range!!

I have an 18 an 22” barrel. I don’t see a ton of difference between the two. I’d say go for whichever you want.

I put one together for deer earlier this year, I tried to stay somewhat light weight and went with the 16" barrel.

Poke around on the Grendel forum. Tons of info on builds,reloading,troubleshooting etc. I had an extra BCG laying around and got my bolt in their group buy. Saved some money over the cost of a complete BCG.

If only reaching to 600 then I would go with 18”.

18” is going to be easier in an AR platform to move around with such as cars, doorways, cases, deer blinds, etc. 18” will give you plenty of velocity. On YouTube there’s guys hitting at 800 yards consistently with a 12” barrel on a pistol upper.

I went with the 20 and wish I would have gone with the 18.

I went with a BCA upper with 20 " SS Barrel and like it very much. Shoots very accurate and bought the upper for under $300.00 with BCG.
My personal preference for AR- 15 platform is 20" barrels. Same length for my 5.56.
