I got some ammo passed to me that needs the forward assist on a regular basis to put the BCG into battery.
It's reloads and I know the issue, but yes, the forward assist is a must on any of my AR's.
I don't use FA. If the round won't go easily, I want another round. I am sure not going to hammer a bad round further into the chamber, only to get it possibly stuck worse. FA has caused way more problems that it has ever helped.

Works great when you are chambering a round in the deer stand. Works great in the desert too.
