I've been thinking of adding a 300 Blackout barrel for my AR (5.56/16"/mid-length gas tube), but I do not find any barrels set up for mid-length. They're all pistol or carbine length. I assume that has something to do with available gas pressure? So, if there's no such thing as a mid-length 300 Blackout barrel, which one would you go with ... pistol or carbine? I might someday add a suppressor, but not in the near future. Thanks!

carbine length will probably be easier on the BCG and related parts
plus they might not make a carbine length barrel with a pistol length gas system, do they ?

If you are going to run a 300blk without a suppressor, choose a pistol length gas system.

Yes, 16" barrels are available with pistol length gas systems.

Thanks, fellas! Yeah, it's easy to find 16" barrels with either carbine or pistol length gas systems. I just had no idea which was the better choice! Is carbine length 'better' with a suppressor?
