ASAP key

[Oklahoma Stronghold]

I'm building my first AR and I got a Magpul ASAP. I was wondering if anyone else has installed one of these. If so, did you have any problems w/the little "key" that goes in the gap on the bottom. I have a mil spec tube and when I go to use the mil spec key, it is too long to fit in the gap. Should I file it?

It's not too long you just aren't holding your tongue right. It helps if you point your lower toward the ground, ie your buffer tube point straight up, and let gravity help you drop it in.
