If you are or know an Oklahoma Veteran that has suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury there is a study that will be conducted in the Tulsa area. Please contact the number below and you will be screened to see if you qualify for the free treatment.
Welcome to Information about the National Brain Injury Rescue and Rehabilitation (NBIRR-01) Observational Study of Hyperbaric Oxygen in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress
NBIRR-01 detailed description on www.clinicaltrials.gov.
Disorder (PTSD). NBIRR is a Multicenter Study of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at Low Pressure in Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)/Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) and TBI/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
If you are a patient seeking information about participation in the Study, please read the following and fill out the information to the right if you think you qualify.
Please note: This study is concerned with TBI/PCS/PTSD. This study is not for children and does not include patients with autism, cerebral palsy, or any form of brain injury other than TBI/PCS/PTSD.
This study has begun recruiting. For those who may be wondering if they could receive HBOT under this study, read below for a brief summary of who may qualify to participate.
* You must be an 18-65 year-old patient with mild-moderate TBI or PTSD.
* If you have a military injury, subject may be on active duty, a veteran, or retired.
* You are disqualified if you are pregnant.
* You are disqualified if you have a pulmonary disease that precludes hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) (e.g., asthma unresponsive to medication, bullous emphysema).
* You are disqualified is you have any unstable medical conditions that are contraindicated in HBOT (e.g. severe congestive heart failure or heart failure requiring hospital emergency evaluation or admission in the previous year).
* You may not suffer from severe confinement anxiety (e.g., you are excluded if you require anesthesia conscious sedation for MRI or cannot go in elevators).
* You are disqualified if you have other pre-TBI neurological diagnoses (e.g., seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons, Lyme, etc.)
* You are disqualified if you are participating in another experimental trial with active intervention.
* Other inclusion/exclusion criteria apply and will be fully explained before admission to the Study.
If you think you qualify, please complete the form on the right to provide your name and contact information. Then contact the NBIRR Call Center at (800) 288-9328.
