I’ve got a new-to-me rifle with a slim barrel and forearm. The barrel-stock fit is suspicious. Action screws are snug but I can hear the forearm flexing and impacting barrel every time I handle it. Before I relieve the stock and float it, I’d like to try a bit of upward pressure. What have you used to shim a stock that doesn’t swell with heat or moisture?
