Is there a basic rifle course available? I am a complete noob when it comes to rifles. Never fired one and don't know anything about them. I want to have one for self defense and possible hunting. I dont own one yet. Need complete guidance.
USSA in Tulsa has a good one day intro class for semi-autos.
When and where on the Appleseed? Planned to attend a couple before but something came up each time.
Hey, I was in the same boat a couple of years ago. I was completely unfamiliar with any kind of rifle platform, let alone an AR-15.
I took the Intro to Rifle Marksmanship course at the USSA. Just like Kopbet said, its a 1 day intro class that covers just about all the parts to the rifle, how to strip and clean it, what to look out for as far as wear and tear goes, how to zero it, and the fundamentals of shooting it. I believe they have rifles available for rent. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
And if you're interested in the self-defense aspects, I'd also suggestion checking out the 230 and 231 rifle courses they offer as well!
