Worst- 3/4 ADA messhall, 82nd Abn Div, Ft. Bragg (Early- mid 80's). So bad, the guys from 3/4 would walk over to our messhall three times per day. We had to eat at their place every other weekend. Better to starve than eat there. Always smelled like someone barfed on the griddle. Eventually, an investigation turned up a lucrative scam involving low end food being delivered along with the regular stuff, then the regular stuff went downtown. The BN S-4 and Mess Sgt were relieved, but the food didn't improve much. Best- The original Macaroni Grill, I-10 access rd. in Leon Springs, TX. A bit smaller than the chain versions, but great service and awesome food served in generous portions. Too bad it closed in the mid 90's. Now it's a hair salon or something. "Best" has as much to do with the mood, company, reason for going and service as it does with the food itself (As long as the food is great).
