Oops, yeah that's what I meant. Major brain fart there. Shows what happens when you try to write posts with fatigue. Guess I'll try to clean some more cosmoline out. Sticky bolts are never any fun. I would believe so. I picked up one and jduff picked up another. I heard they only had a couple (maybe two)? left.
there has been lotsa talk about cleaning cosmoline. i believe there is another thread out there but this one was the first one i found http://www.okshooters.com/showthread.php?144346-Cleaning-Cosmoline
Sounds like a fun job ahead cleaning this old girl. Off topic: I do believe I may have gotten myself into a place for which there is no return. Now I'm looking for a Springfield 1903. IIRC someone on here said it's a bad deal once you drink the Milsurp Kool Aid. Jeff
So true, so true. You truly become infatuated with these rifles once you get into the collecting hobby (although I'm not really a collector myself). Also, for getting a 1903 Springfield, you're just outta luck. The best deals on 'em were from the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program), and they sold out large stocks long ago. You might be able to find a few when you drive down to Anniston or up to Camp Perry. Better grab an M1 Garand while you still can.
