There is no such thing as "minor surgery" IMO.
My wife had bladder surgery a few years ago, and couldn't balance our checkbook when she got home. She seemed to get better for a few months, but then began a steady decline. This morning I had to help her put her shoes on the right feet.
Maybe coincidence, maybe not. But the thought of anesthesia scares the daylights out of me. I even found one forum where an anesthesioligist admitted that his profession does serious harm to some folks.
