What I would really like to see is the progression of that number over the last 20 years. Ok so it's up 20% over last year. Is that a-typical? Is the usual progression 5% increase year over year? I talked to a Canadian today and he said that in Canada even if you buy a shotgun for HD you NEVER say that is the purpose you are buying it for. Not matter if it's a chainsaw handled Mossy 500, you are planning to shoot waterfowl, rabbits, and squirrels with it...He brought up a valid point. The thinking behind that is that in Canada they somehow keep track of those buying for leisure shooting and those buying for sporting/hunting purposes. In the event there was ever a grab at firearms those who bought for leisure purposes would lose them first. The right of people to take part in the long and deeply rooted past time of hunting would be the last reason for the government to take their guns. So apparently the Canadians are already buying guns on the premise that they will be taken away. If you don't have your OK hunting license, might as well get it. At least then you can claim you use your guns for hunting. Without a license it's a tough case to make. The safety course is free, online, and doesn't take long to complete. The hunting license is around $32.
