Black Powder Rifle Kits

My brother and I would use our lawn mowing money to buy them. We’d ride our bikes to Otasco and pick up a kit or two. They were fun and something we could build together. Dad,grandpa and us would go have a day of shooting. I was at Cabelas yesterday, they had a Kentucky rifle kit hanging on an end cap right by where you pay for and pick up guns at. I think it was $179. Brought back some memories. Here’s one I did in my early teens

They have one left now, and it’s 329 now. I almost bought it anyway, but the inletting on the wood in the stock looked pretty rough to me.
