I've got something similar (Sniper drag bag) and the intent is that you have your heavy ass rifles inside of it and then the bag has a handle at one end you can use to drag it behind you to save energy while walking around. It looks like carready's drag mat can also hold a rifle (based on shape) but can also double as a shooting mat.

Correct GC7. Does not hold as much as a drag bag, but lays out flat and is padded for a shooting mat. It hold 1 long gun, 10rds of ammo and another large pouch for documents or accessories.

In the age before the recent bout of desert warfare it was part of the snipers methods to potentially have to low crawl into final position. In an effort to keep a low profile you would drag your stuff and things behind you. E.g. all the 80’s sniper flicks portraying everything from VN to Nicaragua.
