[QUOTE="RickN, post: 2098938, member: 8854"] Since some of you folks donated to getting them healthy you folks get first crack at a good dog. If we post him somewhere else we will be asking $50 just to make sure he gets a good home but I know you guys will not dump a dog. I think he will mature into an excellent dog as he seems to be pretty intelligent for his age and learns quickly. He is learning not to jump up on people but might slip every now and then. His down command is "off". The details: He is about 8 months old and around 45 lbs. The vet says he will not get much larger. He is a black lab, Australian Cattle Dog mix but unlike his sister will not try to herd you by nipping at your heels. He has had his shots, treated for hookworms and been fixed. Pretty much over trying to steal the other dogs food but does not do well with chicken based dog food. It makes him sick. He is still in the puppy chewing stage but give him a rawhide chew and he leaves everything else alone. He likes to be outdoors and if you have a fenced yard he will be happy. Very gentle around babies but I have not had a chance to see how he does with small children. He would not bite them or anything but he might knock them over being playful. He will rough house with you, chase tennis balls or thrown ropes. He will bring it back unless there is another dog to chase him for it. He loves having his ears scratched and will sit until you get tired of doing it. Right now he is sitting under my desk playing footwarmer. Older pic and he has filled out some.
