But some of this and treat all your shoes, and then hose down all your hunting/yard work clothes with it. Works great. Spent a lot of time in the woods/stomping around in chest high grass last year, wasn’t bit a single time.

We use permethrin sprayed on the exterior of shoes and pants and let dry hanging in the garage.
Living in the woods like we do, ticks are a way of life sometimes. Wife has had Lymes Disease and I've had rocky mountain spotted fever.
Both cases caught early and treated successfully.
I have noticed when the flocks of turkey come back to the yard mid summer, and forage, the tick population goes way down in numbers.
We have always had dogs that go out and wife has been against any spraying to control ticks fearing the dogs will get sick. We don't have dogs anymore with the last one gone in December, so a pesticide program will be started in the spring.

Lawn granules will control 'em around the yard, just make sure to get the ones that include tick coverage.

Ticks & scorpions (and spiders) aren't affected by some insecticides. Arachnids are just different critters.

This is a tick that was fully engorged on a dog and fell off. It was put in a ziplock bag and they waited to see what happened. It’s been in the bag for 2 weeks with no air flow and started to lay eggs about 5 days ago, continuing to do so. Imagine not knowing this was on your animal and it fell off in your house. You’d have 1000’s of baby ticks. GROSS! Please make sure your animals are currently being treated with flea and tick prevention. We know how prevalent they are in our area
