It took me just a few rounds to get her in the bull using a home made cheap sandbag as a rest, then I was shooting little teeny tiny post-it notes dead center from there on out at 25 yds . As long as I did my part, the gun will put them all in one ragged hole at 25 yds (indoor range). This is the tube-fed version; it shoots shorts, longs, and long rifles. I shot CCI 40 gr minimags, the same in 36 gr, some 40 gr Blazer, some plain old Federal bulk pack in 36 gr, a tube or two of Federal Automatch in 40 gr, and then a tube full of CCI CB shorts. All the LR stuff fed and shot great; not even a single malfunction. The shorts are very quiet! But again, no malfunctions with those either. I am going to take it outside next time when it's not 175 friggin' degrees and stretch it out to 50 yds and beyond to see how we do. I spent the better part of two hours with the gun and had a blast. One nice bonus was I had a great time shooting the rifle and unlike when I run my 15-22, I didn't burn through a ton of ammo. The gun has a very nice bolt action, she was tight at first (gotta love that) but she seemed to loosen up and get slicker as we both warmed up and picked up speed. That cheap Simmons scope was fine for this gun. The Pro-Fire Adjustable trigger is great. I did lighten it up just a little bit after the first few tubes, and might even go a little lighter for next time. It's not hard to adjust but you do have to loosen the two takedown screws to get to the trigger's innards to adjust the weight it if you so desire; it wasn't a big deal and just took a few minutes to do it. This gun feels like a bigger rifle too, much more substantial than you might think. I am more than pleased with my purchase and can see a lot of good quality bolt-action time in my future with this gun.

[QUOTE="druryj, post: 2770805, member: 10465"] RANGE REPORT: This Marlin XT-22tr is one heck of an accurate rimfire rifle indeed. It took me just a few rounds to get her in the bull using a home made cheap sandbag as a rest, then I was shooting little teeny tiny post-it notes dead center from there on out at 25 yds .
