So I found this little single shot .22 in a local pawn shop and picked it up on the cheap side of $70. When i got it home i figured what the hell lets try something a little different. So with some sandpaper and krylon this is what I ended up with

I have a "Western Auto" that I need to do that to. Seems like it was made by Mossberg???? It's about 20 feet long.

Yours looks neat. Think I'm gonna go with flat black BBQ paint on mine, and maybe some Harley-Davidson wrinkle black for the stock.

I have this exact rifle as well, got it when my grandfather passed. I have dated mine to the 1930's or so. One of these days I plan on finding some of the parts for mine and completing it.

I need to find a exploded view for it, as of right now I know for sure I am missing the butt plate. My uncle (who should not use guns...lol) thought that the stock needed to be refinished so he stripped it years ago and refinished it.

I asked for the gun for years and he said it was broken and did not work and didnt want to give it to me. It wasnt until after he knew I was a gun person and carried a weapon that he finally gave it to me. Said it didnt fire, wasnt until I explained that it was a rim fire and that the rounds are prone to not firing that he let me have it. Fired the very first round out of the box with no issues.

I want to finish it one day and determine if it is worth it to reblue the barrell or not. I dont want to hurt the value of it though since it is nearing 80 years old now.

Thanks for the complements guys, I think based on how this one turned out I'm going to do the same thing with a savage mark II TR when I get one. Except I'll have the barrel professionally don so the finish will last. This was just a fun lil time killer. I am thinking I will either sell this one or have it threaded lol.
