BREAKING: Texas AG Accuses Cheaper Than Dirt of Price Gouging

File this under things everyone already knew was going on. As we wrote the other day, no one likes high prices, but they’re part of the current market conditions. Consumers are seeing the effects of the laws of supply and demand on a daily basis as they shop for guns and, more acutely, ammunition.


But there’s a difference between market-driven price increases and outright gouging. Mention the term ‘gouging’ to just about any firearms consumer and one seller almost immediately comes to mind: the ironically named Cheaper Than Dirt.

What took them so long? That POS dealer hasn't got a dime of my business since Sandy Hook when they tried to screw me.
I still subscribe to their mailed catalog so I can stick them for postage and it goes unopened into the trash when I receive it.

This last electiom cycle, when my outspoken obnoxious liberal friends started asking me about where to find gun stuff and ammo, CTD is where I sent them. Gotta pay the back stupid-tax.

I'm no fan of CTD, but as long as NOBODY has to buy from them, retailers should be free to ask whatever price they want to ask without government intervention. We don't HAVE to shop there and we won't.
