    I have 3 of them. All kind of beaters, but one is a 1917 dated gun, that was handed down from uncles to my dad and now me. Love them. Have one that was sporterized to a short rifle. Ammo isn't near as cheap as it used to be in the 80's(nothing is) but surplus can be found if you are patient. Love all my rifles, but that brass buttpad will leave a bruise after a day of shooting.

    I used to have a mkIII....bought it at Sears back in the '60's...paid $27 for it then.....

    I've got a no 4. It is very nice shooting rifle. I really don't think it kicks much at all. Definitely doesn't kick like a mule if you ask me.
