[QUOTE="Firpo, post: 3981881, member: 45550"] That one has me puzzled as well. Not sure how someone can deny another person’s first hand experiences over decades of service. I’ve known probably 50ish teachers and 15 COPS that all say the same as yourself. Through my involvement in a number of 12 Step groups I have heard the personal stories of tens of thousands of people since November 7, 1986 and of course there are people there that come from good homes however it doesn’t take long to see a pattern develop and realize that the overwhelming majority of people abusing drugs and alcohol started as adolescents and had parents that used. You can try and tell me I haven’t heard what I heard or witnessed what I’ve seen but it IS a documented fact. Now there will be people that want to deny that for various personal reasons and that’s absolutely their choice and I’m not going to beat my head against a wall to convince them otherwise. Heck! Let’s take a look at the Bible. We have the parable of the Prodigal Son who appears to have come from a decent home and for whatever reason had his head up his hind end. Then we have in Deuteronomy 5 where it talks about the “sins of the father being passed down to the third and fourth generation.” Believe what you wish but don’t sit there and try and tell me not to believe my lying eyes.
