I'd love to see a pic of the guy who sent the letter. If OSA (and facebook) are any sort of example, he's probably 450Lbs or more (I'm just going by the experience that the loudest A-holes usually have 3 fingers pointing back at themselves). I'd say sending in a letter like that was both a chicken-$#@! move and bullying. Bullying by way of socially outcasting or verbal abuse is a big deal to me personally - I've got 3 kids and all are "gentle giants". None are overweight (all are athletically built and into tons of sports). They pretty much mind their own business and don't respond to bullies - they don't like to fight and they have thick skin, but you can only be pushed so far. Two of my kids have been accused of bullying for standing up for themselves because they had finally had enough of the loudmouth kids who were picking on them (in the case of my son, the half-pint instigator was literally yelling at him with a group of other kids and running up behind him when my son turned and laid him out with an uppercut and jumped on him and kept swinging). The instigator had been calling him names and gathering around a bunch of my son's classmates and telling my son that nobody wanted him around and getting in his face. He was also a foot shorter than my son. Guess who got sent to the principal's office for "bullying"? Yep, my son - despite multiple calls to the principal's office and talks with teachers about what has happening before the fight. Same thing happened to my daughter - she was 13, but 5'9" tall and has pretty good upper body strength (she's a post in basketball and has no issue putting people on their backs) - a steroided up football player liked to catch girls off-guard and make crude comments and even get handsy. He tried it with my daughter and she nearly knocked him off his feet with a binder she happened to be holding (he grabbed her ass - it wasn't like he just made a comment). His mom worked at the school and walked out just in time to yell out how my daughter was "bullying" her son (who was a 6' power-lifter / Offensive Lineman). My daughter just went to the principal's office and from that point on the teacher (and her friend) both picked on her - more bullying. We left the school over it after attempting to resolve the situation and not getting results. So if you ask me, social/verbal bullying is just as bad - especially when kids stick up for themselves at the risk of being labeled a "bully". No reason at all for the letter - it served no purpose other than to hurt someone. That's what bullies do.
