He was so mad he walked up and took their shotguns

Just curious,,,
Was your Dad armed?

Over 30 years ago I saw two men walking with shotguns across my horse pasture,,,
I went out to let them know that I now lived there and didn't want them hunting on my place.

I was calm, cool, and collected when I spoke with them,,,
One man said they had been hunting this property for years,,,
He didn't actually "aim" his shotgun at me but he did sorta point it.

I had my 1911 in my back waistband,,,
As soon as they turned away I covered them,,,
My wife (who was a police dispatcher at the time) was watching through binoculars.

She called the County Sheriff while I was "escorting" them to the fence line,,,
They had a Sheriff's Deputy there in no time flat.

Both men arrested for armed trespassing.

I noticed road hunting was up this year too. Seems like every sit in the stands either on the lease or my place there was a steady stream of road hunters. They are more of an issue out west as they can see a lot of ground from the roadway. I had the GW on speed dial this year. Road hunters are just poachers who are too lazy to get out and walk! Unfortunately, I’ve had some experiences with both types. Glad he got them and I agree 800 bones is way too cheap of a fine.

Might need to get the game warden a little Xmas gift this year. A thief is a thief no matter what they take. Good on the warden for calling you. I caught some d-bags stealing copper out of a building and throwing it over the back fence one day from a nearby roof. TPD said there was no crime without a victim and let the meth heads go. Not a single try to contact the owner

Yeah, he called not knowing where I was at, but myself and the landowners around there really support his work. He spends countless hours all over the county.
I was actually on the back side of the quarter he caught them on working on a deer blind. Wind was kind of high and I can't hear well, so I never heard the shots go off 1/2 mile away on the other side of the place.
I might take your suggestion. His year isn't going well for him personally. His mom died in October of cancer, his wife is battling cancer and his daughter has had multiple surgeries over the last couple of years for an issue she has. 2020 has been really rough on him.
